Atop the White Bluffs of the Columbia Valley is where the Gamache Vineyard calls home. After much thought to which varietals would be ideal in the diverse soil types found here, brothers Bob and Roger Gamache established the first plantings in 1982. In the early stages of planting, the brothers also consulted with the late Dr. Walter Clore for direction as to which varietals would thrive in this location.
There are several different grape varietals grown at the Gamache Vineyard that are selected for our Gamache Vineyard and Heritage collection wines. They are:
Viognier, Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling, Merlot, Syrah, Cabernet Franc, Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon
We also source grapes from some of Washington's top viticulture sites and vineyard blocks for our Heritage Collection. We combine over thirty-five years of grape growing experience with fruit sourced from Gamache Vineyard, Ciel du Cheval Vineyard on Red Mountain and the Champoux Vineyard in the Horse Heaven Hills to produce outstanding wines.
