Atop of the White Bluffs in the Columbia Valley is where Gamache Vineyard calls home. Brothers, Bob and Roger Gamache, established the first plantings in 1982 after great thought to which varietals would be ideal in the diverse soil types found. As they began their plantings, the brothers also consulted with the late Dr. Walter Clore for direction to which would thrive.
Now several different varietal types are seccessfully grown and listed below are the varietals hand selected for Gamache Vintner's wine program in the Estate and Heritage collections.
Viognier, Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling, Merlot, Syrah, Cabernet Franc, Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon
Gamache Vintners also sources from some of the top viticulturist and vineyard blocks in Washington State to be included in the Heritage collection. This is where we combine Gamache Vineyards' fruit with over thirty years of viticultural knowledge by some of the best to produce outstanding releases from vineyard blocks such as Ciel du Cheval Vineyard of Red Mountain and Champoux Vineyard of the Horse Heaven Hills.
