Where does the name Strata come from? Strata is a geology term and very important to consider when growing grapes. Viticulturists are stewards of their land, and it is with them the winemaking journey begins. By balancing soil types, ideal sun exposures, and the sloping aspects of their vineyards with the ever-evolving weather conditions of their locale, they produce fruit that expresses their love of the land as well as their passion for what they do.
The grapes were sourced fruit from Joseph Christy Vineyard located on the Horse Heaven Hills and raises a glass to the fantastic soil layers and composition to that viticultural site.
