Cherry - Oregano - Blackberries - Raspberry
Combination of new and neutral French and American Oak
Aromas of blackberries and a slight spice welcomes you. The mouth is pleasantly surprised with flavors of raspberry and tobacco. A soft finish filled with silky tannins makes this release a true delight.
The fruit for this Cabernet Sauvignon is sourced from the original vines planted in 1985. In 2010 we managed the canopies closely to allow for optimum ripening during the year. Harvest was unique because it was slightly cooler and later than past harvests in the Columbia Valley. The TA and Brix levels did not hit their usual benchmarks to signal when to harvest. As for when to pick the fruit, Roger and our winemaker, Charlie Hoppes worked closely together to reach that the ideal time to bring the fruit in.
The 2010 vintage provided beautiful, elegant red wines that have great age potential.
Food Pairing Notes
Red meats such as tri-tip, ribs, steak or even slow cooked dishes that provided a tenderness to the meat would be a perfect pairing.
