2016 Strata, Rhone Blend

The Strata blend is charateristically lighter in body and full of ripe blueberry notes and dried herbs! Wonderful option for Thanksgiving!
This wine has been exclusive to our wine club members, but now you too can experience this new rhone blend at Gamache Vintners! Very limited production was made and when it is gone it is gone!
Where does the name Strata come from?
Strata is a geology term that refereces the parallel layers of materials formed and very important to consider when growing grapes. Wine grapes like to grow in well drained soils and thrive when the root systems are stressed through different strata layers.
Viticulturists are stewards of their land, and it is with them the winemaking journey begins. By balancing soil types, ideal sun exposures, and the sloping aspects of their vineyards with the ever-evolving weather conditions of their locale, they produce fruit that expresses their love of the land as well as their passion for what they do.
The grapes used for this blend are new to our winemaking program and come from Joseph Christy Vineyard located on the Horse Heaven Hills near the Columbia River.
